Come and taste our unique range of hand crafted ales
Phillip Island is famous for its spectacular coastal scenery, world renowned nature parks and pristine surf beaches- the only thing missing was good local beer hence Rusty Water was born.
Taking it’s name from the colour of beer – Rusty Water Brewery Restaurant & Bar is home to Phillip Island Brewing Company plus a selection of ales and ciders from other like minded craft breweries. We are sure to have an ale or cider to tempt you.
A hand crafted beer is not like your standard lager. Unique flavours are created with the use of specialty malts, yeasts, hops and the addition of things like oak, orange, vanilla and spices.
Our Beer is small batch hand crafted and so you will experience colour, aroma and flavours of the highest quality on tasting.
Try all of our ales from a current range on tap and watch for our new specials then enjoy them matched with our great food and hospitality.
Whether it’s enjoying the relaxed atmosphere on the outside decking, sunning yourself in our new beer courtyard or warming yourself in front of the cosy wood fires, our opening hours are seasonal, so check our home page for up to date trading hours.
Come on down, the Team at Rusty Water will make you feel most welcome.

New Chicory Stout Release
Visitors often ask “what are those old, brick towers dotted around the Island?” Chicory farming was introduced to the Island in 1870 and the kilns still stand today as a reminder of our history. Classic Irish in style, using hops and malts imported from the UK, roasted chicory was added during the brewing process. Enjoy this unique Chicory Stout as a tribute to the history of Phillip Island.
Just in time for winter – Our new release “Shipwreck IPA”
Like Phillip Island’s famous shipwreck “The Speke”
This IPA has a story to tell, A mix of American hops, Simcoe, Amarillo & Citra combine to deliver an upfront full flavoured hop driven IPA, displaying tropical fruit & citrus flavours with a resinous bitterness. A medium bof=died backbone, balance out the big hop flavours & aromas. (6.4%)
